MADRID, Spain — A community outreach initiative in Madrid has brought together Scientology volunteers, Youth for Human Rights and Fundación MEJORA to raise awareness of fundamental freedoms.

Through direct conversations with pedestrians and the distribution of educational leaflets, participants introduced the public to the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The activity coincided with public discussions in Spain's capital about housing, freedom of expression and peaceful assembly. The educational campaign was independent of the housing demonstrations.

The initiative draws on educational resources developed by Youth for Human Rights International and United for Human Rights. The information covers everyday rights relating to dignity, personal freedom, education and social protection.

Article 25 of the Universal Declaration addresses an adequate standard of living, including housing, while Article 26 emphasises education that strengthens respect for human rights.

Ivan Arjona, Scientology's representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, connected the initiative with Europe's commitment to human dignity and fundamental news eu ukraine freedoms.

The programme forms part of the Church of Scientology's wider support for human rights education, rooted in the importance L. Ron Hubbard placed on fundamental freedoms.

The Madrid initiative illustrates how international human rights principles can be shared through practical community activities.
